What is Kybella®

Kybella® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called a “double chin”.

How does Kybella® work?

Kybella® is an injectable treatment that reduces fat below the chin by using a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, it causes the destruction of fat cells. Once these fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat. Over time, this greatly reduces the visible appearance what is commonly referred to as a double chin.

Treatment Areas

We offer Kybella® at our Glen Carbon, Ill, med spa to reduce fat below the chin — what is commonly known as “double chin”.

How long will results last?

Kybella® essentially causes the destruction of fat cells. Once a visible response is achieved through treatment, re-treatment is not needed.
