Dark Colored Spots

Most of us have a few dark colored (or pigmented) skin spots, or lesions, that we were either born with or have acquired over time. We treat a range of brown spots at our Glen Carbon, Ill, medical spa using laser treatments, including pigmented skin lesions include birthmarks, freckles, age spots (solar lentingines), and other minor skin marks.

What can I do?

If you have any of these spots and they bother you, we can help! At MidAmerica Plastic Surgery, we have a state-of-the-art laser that can remove these pigmented lesions.

How does it work?

Pigmented lesions are created by a collection of melanocyte skin cells. Our laser targets these cells, destroys the melanocytes, thus removing the pigment from the skin. After laser treatment, the lesion will crust and scab and within two weeks it will fall off the skin.
