A good skincare regimen should start with a proper cleanser that will remove oil, grime, and impurities, without stripping the skin. The Spa’s new Sensi Foam Cleanser is an ideal step to begin your regimen with, especially for those with normal and sensitive skin, as well as post-treatment and patients with rosacea. Sensi Foam is gentle, anti-inflammatory, and non-irritating, but will lather into an effective foam to remove accumulated grime from your everyday routine. Aestheticians recommend double cleansing, so this cleanser can be used by all skin types as an effective first step to removing makeup and dirt, followed by a more reactive cleanser. Sensi Foam Cleanser can be used morning and night, to start and end your days with a fresh face!
A basic regimen follows the “ABCs” of skincare- starting with vitamin A, or in its topical form, retinoids. Retinol is crucial to incorporate into your regimen to prevent premature signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration. Retinol promotes cellular turnover and increases collagen production, as well as combats acne and pigmentation. If you’re searching for the fountain of youth, look no further. The Spa will now be offering two different strengths of retinol for beginners and for seasoned retinoid users: 50 and 100. This product should be applied at night only because retinol can make your skin particularly sensitive to sun exposure. Our retinols are oil-based and contain no alcohol or water, like many other retinols on the market. If there is alcohol or water in the product, that means that there are preservatives to keep the product stable. Since our skin is lipid (oil) based, water does not penetrate deep into the skin. Therefore, our Restorative Retinols can go deeper and really get the job done. Ease into retinol by using it three times a week and, if your skin tolerates it, you can start using it nightly. Apply the cream after cleansing and wait five minutes before applying your moisturizer. Also, make sure you are wearing your SPF daily if you are using retinol!
Once you have your ABCs of skincare covered, you may want to incorporate treatments to address other skin concerns. Standard retinols can be too strong to apply on the neck and eye area. The Spa’s new Nexturizing Balm contains antioxidants, as well as a safe amount of retinol to use on the neck. Many patients are bothered by the lines that form on your neck from muscle movement and the body’s natural aging process. While neuromodulators are an option, Nexturizing Balm can treat these lines, as well as pigmentation and redness in the neck area. This product can also be used on the back of your hands. Your hands and neck are the first revealers of our true age, so it’s important to consider more than just your face when it comes to skincare.
For all of the basic skincare kings and queens who don’t want to deal with the hassle of multiple steps in your regimen, we have a product just for you! Our Total Refine Tx contains all your corrective ingredients: antioxidants, retinol, and brighteners for discoloration of the skin. This product also contains a safe amount of TCA, which helps with pores, texture, and provides high exfoliation. It is also safe to use as an eye cream! Total Refine Tx is good for people with normal, photo-damaged, and oily/acne-prone skin types. Start by using this product three times a week at night, as you would with a retinol. You do not need to apply a moisturizer afterward, so it truly is a one-step routine for your nighttime skincare routine!
