We are excited to announce The Spa at MidAmerica has added the VISIA Skin Analysis to our Glen Carbon, IL practice. This device will not only allow you to become more in touch with your skin health, but it will also allow us to pick the best treatment plan 100% customized to your skin and its needs.
The VISIA Skin Analysis takes a photo of your face at 3 different angles using IntelliFlash®, cross-polarized, and UV lighting. The images will scan for brown spots, red spots, UV damage, porphyrins, pores, texture, and wrinkles.
Your face must be clean for the VISIA to have to most accurate reading, so we ask that you arrive to your appointment and/or consultation with a clean face. If this is not possible, we are happy to cleanse the face for you. Once your photos are taken by one of our Medical Spa Coordinator’s, your provider will review your results with you.
In addition to reviewing the photos, each category is paired with a feature count, score, and percentile. This will show you how many spots were identified, your score to compare after future treatments, and the percentile will tell you how you rank amongst others in your same age range with your skin type.
As you can see in the photo above, all of the UV damage is highlighted. He actually scored a 9% in this category, so we have some work to do! 1% is the worst and 100% is the best.
We can also simulate aging up to 80 years old! This is such a neat feature to play with to see what you may be concerned with in 10 years and work to prevent it from happening.
Your provider will also use these images and scores to compare your results after each treatment. It is important to come in for your follow up as recommended by your provider to do so.
