Are you new to filler? Let us help you understand what to expect at your first appointment!
First, if you aren’t sure where and what filler is used for, make sure you read more about the products here.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by one of our Medical Spa Coordinators. They will give you paperwork that walks you through what to expect and consenting to treatment. Once completed, she will escort you to your treatment room and take a few pretreatment photos. These photos are simply for your medical chart and will never be shared publicly without written and verbal consent.
Your provider will come in to consult with you about your goals, expectations, fears, and more. It is important to tell her what you’re looking to achieve with filler, but also what you don’t want. The more communication, the better. If you have a specific amount you’d like to spend, make sure you mention this as well so that she can give you a treatment plan that is attainable.
She will then assess your facial anatomy and give you a treatment plan with the expected cost. Once you both agree upon your treatment plan, she will apply a topical numbing gel. This stuff is intense! It works well to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment. Just don’t lick it unless you want to feel like you just got a cavity filled! Ha.
After your numbing is completely kicked in, she will come back into the treatment room to move forward with the procedure. The treatment itself takes about 20-30 minutes. Many patients do not feel any discomfort during the process. If at any point you need a fan or a break, we can absolutely do that!
Once your provider is finished, she will give you a mirror to walk you through what she did and show you the results. You will be able to immediately ice the area to soothe and reduce swelling.
Your injector will then bring you to a medical spa coordinator to complete the checkout process and walk you through the post care treatment. You will be sent home with after care instructions, so don’t worry about retaining all of the information given to you. We know it can be overwhelming!
At any point, if you have questions or concerns, please call/text our office! We are here to comfort and guide you through this experience.
