Dr. Diederich specializes in body and breast procedures. For the breast, he can perform three different breast procedures based on an individual’s goals: breast reduction, breast lift, and breast augmentation for his St. Louis and southern Illinois patients.
Breast Reduction
This procedure reduces the size of the breasts by removing excess breast tissue. This is very beneficial for patients who suffer from neck/back pain or who commonly get rashes underneath the breast tissue.
The surgery can be covered by insurance in some cases, so generally, we will begin the process that way. During the consultation, Dr. Diederich will take some measurements and determine if he believes insurance will cover this procedure. If so, our insurance specialist begins the process to get that pre-approval. If he does not believe insurance will cover the surgery, we can provide pricing to be paid out of pocket.

Breast Lift
This procedure is best for women who need a little extra, you guessed it, lift. Dr. Diederich takes some measurements during the consultation to confirm if the patient would benefit from this procedure. If you are curious if you would be a good candidate before your consultation, a good reference point is nipple placement. If the nipple sits below the fold (the line where the breast meets the chest), you are likely a good candidate.
This procedure maintains roughly the same size of breast as prior to the procedure. The breasts may feel a tiny bit smaller once they are lifted. Breast Augmentation
This procedure is the best option if your goals are to increase breast size or upper fullness. Dr. Diederich performs rapid recovery breast augmentation for most of his patients, and you can learn more about it in this related blog post.
Breast augmentation is typically done with implants but can also be done with fat grafting, depending on which is a better fit for your lifestyle and preference. Fat grafting is a great option for someone who wants to use their own tissue to create a larger breast. Implants may be the better option for someone who is looking for more fullness at the top of the breast.
