BRA Day at MidAmerica Plastic Surgery!

October is well known for being Breast Cancer Awareness month. Each year, sports teams add the color pink into their uniforms, businesses bring out the pink pens, and people add pink ribbons to their outfits. Something less commonly talked about, however, is Breast Reconstruction Awareness. The first priority is always to defeat the cancer but for many women, their journey does not end there. In order to feel more like themselves again, many women choose to receive breast implants or use fat grafting to help bring back their natural shape. This can be a long process and can often represent the true end of a long journey. Many women describe it as “reclaiming their body as their own once again.” This idea is shown in the logo seen above as it “closes the loop on breast cancer.” 

We’ve been celebrating BRA Day at MidAmerica Plastic Surgery for the past several years. This year, we are selling t-shirts to raise money for the awareness campaign. We are selling these shirts for $18 each. They are very soft and we have sizes S-XXXL! 

We are also raffling off a basket filled with all kinds of goodies from businesses within our community!  These tickets will be $20 a piece and the basket has a value of over $900! Below are a few of the things included in the basket:

We will be donating 100% of these proceeds to the Breast Reconstruction Awareness USA Campaign. So far, this campaign has raised more than $1,700,000 to support research, projects, programs, and the charitable surgical care of women in need of post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.
