How We Are Social Distancing

Given the current state of affairs regarding the coronavirus and resulting pandemic; numerous services, both private and governmental, have been affected which adversely affects our practice, staff and patients.  Social distancing steps are being taken to “flatten the curve” and slow the inflow of cases to healthcare facilities.

The following steps have been implemented at MidAmerica Plastic Surgery and The Spa at MidAmerica as of 3/16/2020. Last modification on 5/6/2020.

Patients

Fever / Illness All patients who are ill should not be seen.  In the event a patient has symptoms they will be informed to call their primary care physician to see what steps need to be taken.  DO NOT proceed to an urgent care, emergency room, or any physician’s office unless this is a severe health risk. The provider they were scheduled to see should be notified immediately so that the provider may determine what additional care is needed and how to proceed.

If a patient has traveled within the last 14 days, they will not be seen electively. If they do require care, we will speak with the provide to determine how to proceed.

Patients who are older, have multiple medical conditions, or live in group homes will not be seen electively. If they do require care, we will speak with the provide to determine how to proceed. This is for the patients’ safety.

Social Distancing

We will take steps to improve social distancing.  Patients may now text us when they arrive:

  • MidAmerica Plastic Surgery 618-288-7855
  • The Spa at MidAmerica 618-307-6233

We will confirm their text with a text.  We will text the patient when their appointment is ready.  Paperwork can be taken to the car. We will try to limit those in the waiting room and encourage them to wait in the car as needed.

Team Members

Team members who are not directly involved with patient care will work from home until further notice. This will not affect your accessibility to them or disrupt our processes. Team members are regularly monitored to ensure they’re healthy.

Stay safe and we will provide updates as we revise.
